The Captain Nicholas Schade Whitlock Foundation is proud to announce the first recipient of the Nicholas Whitlock Leadership Scholarship, Andrew Sowerbrower.  Andrew is an outstanding graduating senior at Newnan High School who has demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities and academic achievement.  In school, he was a member of the Newnan High wrestling team, manager of the girls’ soccer team, member of FCA, and excellent student.   During his four years on the varsity wrestling team he achieved: three time county champion, two time region champion, a state placer, and team captain.  Andrew is also an active member of his community church through peer ministry, volunteering in the nursery, and going on mission trips.  Through dedication to his academics and passion for service, Andrew exemplifies the characteristics of a true leader and worthy recipient of the Nicholas Whitlock Leadership Scholarship.

After graduation, Andrew plans on attending Mercer University.
