34th SOS Patch
The winged dragon horse combines the historical lineage of the “Pegasus,” with wisdom, fortitude, and valor of the mythical dragon. This metamorphosis from beast of burden to valiant protector is symbolic of the transition of this unit from a troop carrier squadron to a special operations squadron. The black represents the night sky and the clouds without base indicate the unit’s mission of aerial movements through the sky anywhere on the globe. The moon is symbolic of the unit’s specialization in night operations while the lightning bolts serve as a reminder of the precision and required of Air Force special operations personnel. The color red is used to denote that this squadron was historically known as the “Red Squadron” of the 315th Troop Carrior Group, Medium.
