The Fallen Heroes of Georgia 5K race will take place Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the Lake Lanier Islands Resort in Buford, GA. This race takes place each year to honor and remember Georgia’s Fallen Soldiers who have been killed in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. All race proceeds benefit charities created in memory of a Fallen Georgia Soldier, and last year the Captain Nicholas Schade Whitlock Foundation was added to the befitting charities list.
This is the third consecutive year that the NSW Foundation has been a part of this race, and each year we strive to increase the number of volunteers and runners we have present at this event. If you are interested in running you can sign up online here. We ask that all those who sign up to also contact us through email (nswfoundation@whitlockfoundation.com) or Facebook to let us know you will be attending on Nick’s behalf.
This year there is also an opportunity for the benefitting charities to gain sponsorships for the race. All proceeds of sponsorships sold by the NSW Foundation will go directly to benefit the NSW Foundation, but equally as important these sponsorships will raise awareness and support for the Fallen Heroes of Georgia race.
