The Captain Nicholas Schade Whitlock Foundation is proud to announce the 2016 recipient of the Nicholas Whitlock Leadership Scholarship, Emma Morris. Emma is an outstanding graduating senior at Newnan High School who has demonstrated exceptional leadership qualities and academic achievement.
Emma was a member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, and NHS Ambassador program. She was a three year starter for the Lady Cougars soccer team and ran Cross Country all four years of high school. She volunteered at several of the local 5k races and took underprivileged children shopping at Christmas with donations for the Kiwanis Club. Emma recently went on a mission trip to Mexico where she ministered to children in an impoverished area. Emma graduated with High Honors and in the top 1% of her class. She is currently attending the University of Georgia where she is majoring in Exercise and Sports science. She intends to apply to grad school to earn a degree in Occupational Therapy once she graduates from UGA.
Through dedication to her academics and passion for service, Emma exemplifies the characteristics of a true leader and worthy recipient of the Nicholas Whitlock Leadership Scholarship.
