The Whitlock Foundation would like to thank everyone who attended the First Annual Patriot’s Ball and Tailgate on August 30th and 31st, 2013, in Macon, Georgia. These events were planned in order to correspond with the first Mercer football game since 1941, which thankfully the Bears won 40 to 37 on a last minute field goal. All proceeds from the event go toward funding the Nicholas S. Whitlock Memorial Scholarship. We are already planning next year’s events to kickoff the 2014 season!
The Patriot’s Ball was a night to remember that included an incredible musical performance by the The Ultimate Sound Band and a successful silent auction thanks to the generous support of: the Quail Harvest Plantation, Hobson and Beverly Reynolds, Kinetix Health Club, Betsy Pittard Designs, Rumour Boutique, Charlie Daniels, Arthur Blank, Mercer University, John and Cristin Kirbo, Richard Speight Jr., and the Allman Brothers Museum.
The following day, the Whitlock Foundation Tailgate provided the perfect beginning to a big win by the Mercer Bears. The event featured musical performances by Shane Bridges and friends, Colby Dee, and Stevens Layne as well as finger licking BBQ provided by Satterfield’s BBQ.
Stay tuned for information on next year’s event!
